GETTING TO THE POPPENHUIS

From Schiphol Airport:
Convenient train service to Amsterdam's Centraal Station leaves approximately every 20 minutes and takes approximately 15 minutes. Tickets currently cost €3.90 for second class and €6.60 for first class, and may be purchased either at a ticket window or machine. (A small surcharge is charged if you purchase your tickets from a ticket window.) Taxis are also available at a rate of approximately €45.00.

From Centraal Station:
Take either the number 13 or 17 Tram located directly in front of Centraal to the "Westermarkt" stop. The trip takes approximately 5 minutes. Walk in the same direction that the tram from Centraal travels, cross the Prinsengracht and turn right on the next street (Eerste Bloemdwarstraat). Cross the Bloemgracht and proceed about 30 meters to the Poppenhuis, on the left. (The Eerste Bloemdwarstraat becomes the Tweede Leliedwarsstraat on the other side of the Bloemgracht.)

You may also take the 'Stop/Go' (formerly the 'Opstapper'), a minibus operated by the GVB. It can be found in front of Centraal Station. It travels via the Prinsengracht through the Jordaan. The bus has no fixed stops, but can be stopped by passengers along the whole route. The cost for this form of transport is €1, or you can pay with a regular bus and tram ticket. The 'Stop/Go' operates approximately every 12 minutes between 9:00 and 17:30. Have the 'Stop/Go' drop you off at the Bloemgracht and turn right. At the first bridge, turn right onto the Eerste Bloemdwarstraat (to the left the street is called the Eerste Bloemdwarstraat) and continue 30 meters to the Poppenhuis on the left.

Taxis are also available in front of Centraal and will cost approximately €15.00.
